Trolling the belly-dancing section of the record store, and out of curiosity, I recently bought an album called "Tribal Beats For The Urban Streets". What could that be? Belly-dancers doing hip-hop? Rappers undulating to tambourines? I was hoping it might have a kind of Yemenite flavor, so I bit.
It's a little different than I expected, but there are a few tunes I really like: particularly "Sun Dance" by Ruben van Rompaey.
